Our Story

Authentic Expressions of Art is the manifestation of a dream for a place where all are welcome, seen, valued, and respected.  We are united in our commitment to speak positive affirmations and to tell our stories in this journey we call life.

Our story began with a blog, where we wrote of our “Shared Souls Journey”. It was a space to express our thoughts and feelings about our lived experiences, and events that were happening in the world around us.  We wrote about joy, passion, love, loss, growth, shame, anger, and more.  Some stories we shared, and some we held on to – for now. We were pleasantly surprised to see that our reflections resonated with so many of you, our readers.  Without knowing it, and without planning to, we were writing your stories.  Our words were echoing the conversations shared around kitchen tables, at girls’ nights, in the office break room, in the ladies’ room, and at those unplanned, impromptu, sister-girlfriend run-ins, that turned into a much needed hour or two.

We will continue telling the stories of our lived experiences. Of our hopes and dreams. And of the mountains we climb to shape a world where we don’t just survive, but against all odds, we thrive. In doing so, we hope to share the blueprint for those who will come after us. As women, we are for each other, the healing salve for the pain that we carry. We are the voice that affirms that you are not crazy. We are your reminder that you are not the labels that they cast upon us so carelessly. We are that welcoming, and familiar place to be unapologetically you. Without explanation – without pretense – without expectations – and without judgement.  We are the safe place to land for each other, as we navigate a world where we are expected to represent, conform, be silent, to explain, and to entertain.

The evolution in our growth continues as we launch our store with the goal to create and customize pieces to complement and to showcase your unique style.  Our products are created by women for women and for the men in our lives.  We welcome you.  We see you. Who you are - As you are.

To the men who love and support us, we see you and we appreciate you. And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your love, support and encouragement.
